Welcome to WhimsicalWindowsandWords
Glenda is the whimsical whirlwind at the heart of the colourful and fantastical Villa Kunterbunt studio. Within it, everything is a canvas with an opportunity for transformation. Her friends and patrons dare not stay still too long, lest Glenda thinks to paint them.
Born to wonder, Glenda Knoll began down this whimsical path through the playful story of her paintings on glass.
Her splashy love affair with old windows grew from a flurry of paint and outpouring of memories into a business in April of 2014 when WhimsicalWindowsandWords became her full time job.

Encouraging her patrons to Follow the Red Wagon, Glenda’s distinctive red VW bug and charming trailer were a common sight, as she showcased her work at markets across Manitoba.
You too can: Follow the Red Wagon
In 2015, Glenda was officially recognized as an artist when the Villa Kunterbunt was added as a stop on Manitoba’s bi-annual Interlake Wave Artists’ Studio Tour.
She continues to work with the Winnipeg Beach Art + Culture Co-op and fellow artists, supporting not only each other but their communities.
Although windows will always be Glenda’s passion, it isn’t just about windows anymore. It’s about the day after the storm and finding driftwood washed up on the shore.
It’s about rescuing old fabric and sewing (functional art) pillows that “pop”.
It’s about transformation. It’s about connecting, and creating.

Directly on the artist’s lakeside property, Glenda has created a cozy get away for visitors to the Interlake and artlovers alike. Littered with pets and projects, guests step into a world of imagination worthy of the studio’s namesake.
Stay Tuned…
Always onto the next thing, Glenda is also writing and illustrating a children’s book about finding your courage, based on an experience in my life and a 4 year old self’s imagination.
Coming soon is my latest labour of love, entitled…“Don’t Wake the Rooster”.
